DIATOMITE MAGIC

At Natureva, we believe nature holds the answers to modern living. That’s why we’ve embraced the remarkable power of diatomite; a naturally absorbent, fast-drying material that feels like magic. Behind every sleek stone mat is the science of fossilised algae, soaking up moisture in seconds and drying just as fast.

Low-Maintenance

I got this drying mat to replace my old fabric and foam ones, and it’s been a great upgrade. Since it’s made of diatomite, water disappears almost instantly, keeping the area dry. I already use diatomite shower mats, so it was a nobrainer for me.It's important to mention, be sure to rinse it before your first use. There’s a thin layer of diatomite dust that can transfer onto wet dishes, but a quick rinse takes care of that. Once in use, it works exactly as expected, with water from the dish rack vanishing in under a minute. At just under $40, it might seem pricey for a drying mat, but considering it will probably last for years with almost no maintenance, I’d say it’s a worthwhile investment.

Amazingly absorbent dish mat

This dish mat is made from a material that is comprised of diatomaceous earth and recycled paper fiber. The resulting material is like a chalky feeling fiber board that is very light for its size. The mat comes with 4 foot assemblies that attach through holes in the corners of the board and are tightened on. In between the two halves of the foot are rubber rings that protect the fiber board from the foot parts. After the feet are attached to the board you apply an adhesive backed rubber pad on the bottom of them. This keeps the mat from moving around on hard surfaces. You also get a small disc of sandpaper to remove any stains that may occur, although I have not observed any discolouring as of yet. This mat is working amazingly well. It is crazy absorbent, and it also looks really nice too. Quite a step up from the old-style plastic drainage boards that collect pools of water. I am amazed at how much water it can soak up and not saturate. After it gets wet it evaporates very quickly leaving behind a clean dry mat again. I am very impressed with the performance.Overall, this is a great alternative to a traditional dish drying mat, for either directly putting dishes on or for underneath a dish rack. It works amazingly well and looks great. I highly recommend it if you are looking for something new and different in the kitchen.

Beau design.

Very innovative, dries anything quickly, including our cats paws

We put this stone dish mat by our sink, we thought it might keep are cat away from the sink or any dishes on the counter, instead she loves it almost as much as water.* Very happy to report there was no odor upon opening this dish mat, I tried a similar type for our bathroom, that had a terrible smell that never went away. This one, nothing, Nada, zip, good start!* This size mat is perfect for our sink area, they have some weight to them, which is good, our cat can't push it off the counter.* The way it dries is quite cool to watch, my son thoroughly enjoys dropping mini puddles and counting till their gone. (for the most part it's 15 seconds, then just a shadow remains).* I thought it might leave a powdery substance behind, but it doesn't. It's easy to give it a good wipe clean daily, and I use the sanding pad to wipe off any kitty prints every few days (for the record, we don't use it for dishes because our cat refuses to share).Overall, I love this product, for $39.99 (at time of review) it's a very reasonable price for such a unique and amazing quality product. I will definitely look into buying other items from this brand. (coasters and something for under our toothbrushes next) I've been using this for weeks and although it might be meant for dishes, it works wonders for drying our cats paws, I haven't had any wet paw prints on my tv stand or bed, for that reason it's worth all 5 stars, (and then some).Excellent performance, looks great, works flawlessly, far better than expected (and cat friendly, very friendly, see pics).Highly recommend!

Kind of amazing

I'm kind of amazed at this thing. I was a aware of diatomaceous earth, knowing it's often used for insect control since the particles are so fine they can damage the exoskeleton of ants and other crawling bugs, while also being so small that they're harmless to humans, but I had never considered that it'd be useful for something like a dish mat. When you pull this thing out of the box, the first thing that comes to mind is a cutting board. You attach the four feet, and it looks like something you'd use to prepare food, not a dish mat. The first thing I tried was spilling a little water on it to see how quickly it dried. I took a series of photos that I've attached to this review. The first photo is right after I sprinkled water on it, the second photo is after about 10 seconds, and the third photo is after about 30 seconds. Needless to say, this mat does an excellent job of absorbing water. After a few minutes, you could not tell water had been spilled on it at all. It's easy to store in any cupboard. What's included in the box is pretty simple. It's the dish mat (or "dish rock", as I call it), the four legs, some instructions and a sanding pad (according to the instructions, if it stops absorbing water, you can sand off the surface to make it re-absorbent again). In terms of downsides, there's really only one that I've found. The surface area is a little bit small. If you have to do a lot of dishes by hand, you may find it's not large enough. In our case, the majority of our dishes are handled by the dishwasher - we only hand wash some specific items that are either not dishwasher-safe or are too large (usually too tall) for the dishwasher. This dish rock works perfectly for us.

Worth Every Penny!

The Natureva Home Stone Dish Mat is an excellent addition to my kitchen! It arrived packaged extremely well, with bubble wrap ensuring there was no damage during shipping. The mat is highly absorbent and dries incredibly fast, making it both practical and low-maintenance. It’s also aesthetically pleasing, blending beautifully with my kitchen decor. At first, I thought the price point was a bit high, but after multiple uses, I can confidently say it’s worth every penny. So far, I’ve had no issues with water staining, so I haven’t had to use the included sanding tool—but it’s great to know it’s there if needed. I love this product so much I’m already planning to purchase one for my mom.Highly recommend for anyone looking for a functional and stylish drying mat. A fantastic product I’m thrilled to have in my kitchen.

Should have gotten this years ago!

We have been using a towel as a drying spot for dishes for years so was excited to try this product and have not been disappointed. The stone mat arrived nicely packaged in bubble wrap. It was easy to install the raised legs and includes non-slip rubber pads. It did have some residue on it but the instructions did mention this and it easily wiped off with a damp cloth. It is esthetically pleasing and fits nicely on our counter. As advertised it quickly absorbs water. It includes sanding pads if stains develop but the included instructions give good guidance on how to avoid that happening. Very happy with this product, a lot more hygienic than a kitchen towel for a drying rack.

Neat Idea For A Dish Mat

In theory this stone dish mat is a great concept and it is infact super absorbent. The water droplets soak into it very quickly and leaves no water puddles. It didn't fit under our dish rack unfortunately though but it could be used as it's own drying rack mat. It's called a stone dish mat made from Diatomaceous Earth and I believe recycled paper and it it lightweight. I was expecting heavy and potentially breakable, but it's is neither. It's a great design and concept but in honesty a dish towel serves the purpose much easier and requires no maintenance, you just toss the towel in the wash. After a while this dish mat needs a sanding to make it absorbent again but the the sandpaper piece does come with the mat.

Magic!!

This is the second drying mat we have used in our kitchen. The first one (not this company) worked great until it started to warp. The nice thing about this mat is it has feet that you attach so it is suspended off of the counter and it has a very attractive look to it as well. These stone mats are truly amazing how they absorb water so quickly, almost magically. They will be a household staple in our kitchen for years to come.

Fancy stone drying mat

Love this stone drying mat over white versions. This is easy to setup, each foot has 2 o-rings and screws together to have a level surface. Rubber feet stick into the bottom of the metal feet. The stone can be sanded with the included sand paper if it gets stained. Modern and fancy look, no plastic tray to clean!
