Yes, it's normal! The light residue comes from the natural diatomaceous earth used to make the sink caddy. Simply wipe it with a damp cloth before use. If needed, you can also rinse it under water following the cleaning steps. Minor variations, such as small white dots, are natural and do not affect the caddy’s quality or performance.
Wipe the sink caddy weekly with a vinegar-water mixture and let it air dry to keep it clean and hygienic. For stains, scrub under running water with a sponge and a clear, non-coloured dishwashing liquid, then rinse well. For deeper stains, a small amount of hydrogen peroxide may help. Only if the stain remains, lightly sand the area using the included sanding tool.
The caddy’s absorbent power helps keep your countertop dry and tidy. However, coloured liquids or soaps may stain it. We recommend thoroughly rinsing items before placing them on the caddy. With care, including light sanding, it will last for years.

Nice, keeps it dry
The stone sink caddy looks good on the sink.I had an issue before placing the sponge on the side of the sink, as the area was always wet because of this.However after using this , it totally solved this issue.It provides a good water absorption and it comes with a sanding kit to maintain and clean any stains.If it good too wet, I usually air it for a couple of hours and it is as good as new.

I have used Diatomaceous Earth (DE) for years as an insecticide. It is the fossilized remains of diatoms that were blended into clays and minerals to ultimately form a soft, siliceous sedimentary rock that can be crumbled into a fine powder.It is only recently that I have learned of the benefits of DE to absorb water, so I have a couple of DE mats outside our showers, and now to keep a bathroom counter organized, without water pooling under the things sitting on the counter top.It is a nice addition to this bathroom.
Great for keeping my soap dispenser on. This quickly absorbs and dries any liquid on it. It keeps our kitchen counter a lot cleaner. It is a good size for two dispensers or maybe even a sponge. It is fairly easy to clean as well. Good product for the kitchen.
What a Nice invention. I’ve had lots of water accumulated after using my pump soaps and this gadget makes the water disappear so it no longer looks filled with water. The pictures I have posted show you the span of around 20 minutes from the drops that I had placed and after 20 minutes it looked like it was completely dried.It looks modern and goes well with any decor.It comes with four rubber feet you place underneath the 4 feet so it doesn’t slide around.It’s the perfect size to hold two soap dispenser bottles. It also comes with a round sanding paper in order to reactivate the product when it becomes less efficient.It would make a great gift for anyone’s home.
This is such a cool look and concept. The tray is super modern looking, comes pre-assembled, is sturdy, and minimal. I feel like it can fit well into a lot of different decor vibes and it really does absorb water. One of my pet peeves is having to clean the dried water droplets around the soap and this solves the problem while looking great.A couple of things to note are that you might have to tighten the metal legs a bit when you first pull it out of the box, you have to put the little rubber stoppers on the legs before placing it anywhere, and the stone is very textured. It's a bit rough feeling but not in a way that would hurt you.I think using stone is a great idea and am loving this in the bathroom!
These stone trays have been all over social media for a while now and I was finally able to get my hands on one. We have a small bathroom and specifically vanity since so I thought this would be perfect for sitting my soap dispenser on so that each time, we washed our hands water wouldn't just pool on the counter.I love the aesthetic of these trays - they are so modern and clean looking - this one is a light grey color and is packaged very well when received - it's packaged in bubble wrap and comes with little rubber feet, a sanding disk and a card that tells you what to do and to expect out of your stone tray. I did what the instructions advised, wiped down the tray to remove any left-over stuff, put the little feet on it and let it dry, Once dried put the hand soap dispenser on it.Each time I use it, it sort of amazes me how quickly it absorbs - you can literally see it absorbing/drying as it sits on the stone - very fascinating to watch. so far, it's done exactly as it's intended and the reason, I got it - Keeps my vanity sink dry from water and looks great also.One thing I will say is if you have limited space, you may want to measure how much space you have for this tray as I didn't - didn't even think of it and when I received it - the tray was too big to sit as it's supposed to - I had to sit it vertically and even then it's not 100% secure which I'm sad about - I'll have to get a smaller one - this was totally my fault and not a reflation on the product but it is worth mentioning to measure if you have limited space, might save you some headaches.
I really like this stone sink caddy. I received the slate color and it is a beautiful light gray color, it looks just the same in person as it does online. It comes pre-assembled, I only had to stick the non-slip pads onto the bottom of the "legs", and they work very well, the caddy stays in place without moving on my countertop. The caddy absorbs drips and keeps my countertop dry. It wipes clean with a damp cloth. This caddy is the perfect size to store my handsoap and toothbrush holder- they look organized and tidy.Eventually, the caddy will become saturated with moisture. When that happens (it hasn't yet) it comes with a round circle of sandpaper to use to buff it with, and it will become absorbent again.This caddy looks really nice on my bathroom countertop, and it saves my countertop from moisture damage.
This is perfect for my guest bathroom. It absorbs all the water. I don’t have to worry about cleaning around the sink or water accumulation around the sink. It makes a big difference. Keeps things clean and looks good as well. For the price I would recommend it.
